MASSAGE

Massage therapy involves the manipulation of soft-tissue to alleviate pain and discomfort, promote healing, enhance muscle relaxation, improve circulation and help create a sense of well-being. In addition to physical relaxation, massage also helps to promote mental relaxation, relieve stress and anxiety, improve mood and aid sleep.

Massage therapy is widely used and recognised as a safe therapeutic modality with few risks or adverse effects.

Massage incorporates various long and specific strokes given through the hands, soft tissue of the forearm and sometimes the elbow. Methods used can include Trigger point therapy, Myofascial release, soft tissue release and stretching.

‘The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’ Lao Tzu

Rebecca has worked in natural medicine for the past 25 years, first training in Aromatherapy in 1995 with Chinese Medicine principles and later training in Acupuncture. A passionate educator on essential oils, natural living and Chinese Medicine philosophy, Rebecca supports individuals through clinic treatments, online consultations and education, to increased and empowered health and well-being.

Rebecca’s treatments are founded on the deep principle that through the gift of natures essence, essential oils, and the wisdom of Chinese Medicine, physical health and emotional and spiritual well-being can be nourished and strengthened in order to allow each individual’s unique essence to guide their lives and journey towards living their full potential. Rebecca has a warm, caring and intuitive approach, and treatments are unique to each individual to help rebalance, strengthen and realign energies.

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years. They are distilled from different parts of a plant and each one has its own unique chemistry and therapeutic actions. One of the primary ways they can be applied is through massage. Following consultation using Chinese Medicine principles, Rebecca prepares a unique blend of oils which are absorbed into the blood through massage and also through breathing their aroma. Her massage includes meridian (energy channels) balancing and selected acupressure points to bring about the intended therapeutic benefits. Rebecca uses highest quality doTERRA essential oils for their purity, effectiveness and high energetic vibration.

A course of six treatments is recommended to address specific health needs.

Clare Shaw

BSc (Hons) Ost Med

Registered Osteopath and Massage Therapist

Clare qualified as a registered Osteopath in 2003. She then completed post graduate courses in

Cranial osteopathy and spent several years working in clinics treating mainly structurally but with a

focus also on pregnancy, babies/children.

After experiencing Lomi Lomi massage for herself whilst in Hawaii and realising how well it

complemented osteopathy with its principles and approach to the body, Clare took the opportunity

to learn this massage in 2015 whilst taking a break from Osteopathic practice to have children. She

completed training in Lomi Lomi massage and pregnancy massage through several workshops

with a Hawaiian practitioner who came to Europe to teach the massage.

Over the years Clare has created a very unique treatment incorporating the Lomi Lomi techniques

with a focus to align and balance the body using osteopathic techniques and principles specific to

the individual’s condition and need where appropriate.

For some a relaxing massage is what they need, for others the treatment can focus on problem

areas and specific injuries or reoccurring injuries. A postural assessment looks for structural

imbalance and immobility. The aim of the treatment is to find structural balance, reduced tension

within the muscles which encourages free flow of the blood, lymph and nervous systems and in

turn energetic balance and relaxation.

1 hour massage £65

Talitha Moyle

Ayurvedic Yoga masseuse and Yoga teacher.

The Ayurvedic Yoga massage is floor based helping to nurture and re kindle the connection with your own body, diving deeper into self healing.

The ancient philosophy of Ayurveda is based on a deep understanding of the eternal truths about the human body, mind and spirit.

This aspect of the massage uses herbs to help draw out toxins from the blood and muscles.

Boost circulation, metabolism and help aid healing processes within the body. They can help with hormone regulation, energy and inflammation along with many other benefits. [Please note, I am not trained in Ayurvedic practice specifically]. However; Ayurveda, like yoga, works with each person on an individual basis and considers many aspects both physical and emotional.

The Yoga aspect of the massage provides deep tissue work using both hands and feet along with assisted yoga stretches which allow you to get a deeper fuller experience of your body and how it can be moved.

Both the Ayurvedic and Yoga aspect also refers to the coordination of breath work throughout the massage and during the assisted yoga stretching- as you would in a yoga class. In turn, helping to increase circulation, relaxes the body and helps get rid of lactic acid build up.

Breathing deeply during the AYM can have profound effects on helping to release emotional, and physical trauma held in the body and will help to balance blood pressure aid more time in deep sleep along with many other benefits.
