BOWEN TECHNIQUE
Bowen Technique is a gentle, non-invasive neuromuscular bodywork technique, which many find it to be an effective treatment for a surprisingly wide variety of conditions, both acute and chronic.
It is a hands-on technique, consisting of gentle rolling movements over muscles, tendons and occasionally nerves, carried out in short sequences at key structural points, with at least two minutes 'rest' between each sequence, to allow the body to respond and react.
The Bowen technique is holistic; it addresses the entire body and simply put, allows the body to reset, rest and therefore heal itself.
It is appropriate for everyone, from newborns to the very elderly and frail and can help with a vast range of conditions from back ache to sciatica, migraine and IBS as well as acute injuries.
Those who have seen results from Bowen therapy range from highly trained athletes to pregnant women, each benefiting equally, according to need.
Sessions are tailored to the individual and your needs, with the aim being to bring the body back into balance and restoring optimum health and function.
Many come to find Bowen having exhausted other avenues and are so pleased that they did, with often hugely positive results.
Treatments take place on a massage couch (or chair if needed) and usually result in a overall deep sense of relaxation, allowing the body to recharge and balance itself as well as relief of symptoms.
Bowen therapy supports your body's own resources to begin the healing process.
